Ginzan Onsen was inspired by a memorable trip to Japan 2022, where we were deeply moved by the quiet beauty and atmosphere of this historic hot spring town. Capturing that feeling took us seven months of design and refinement. The greatest challenge was engineering a single motor to drive two independent motion systems: one animating a server moving inside the main ryokan, and another powering water pumps in the smaller riverside houses. Each building was carefully constructed to reflect traditional Japanese wooden architecture and building techniques, bringing Ginzan Onsen’s spirit to life in miniature.

Love all the traditional architecture details, from the wooden balconies to the little bridges over the river. Everything fit together perfectly!
I have built many many models, this one is not the best quality, stain hands from handling the wood pieces, very flimsy several pieces have fallen apart or snapped when being removed from template, unfortunately several pieces ie cogs ⚙️ cannot be used, numbers two etc, so movements will not work as not spares included. Very disappointed as the item doesn’t meet my expectations
Loved making this very complex. The gears are bit hard but overall good. Some pieces are fragile so be careful. The only thing there is no bottom to covering
The Ginzan Onsen set is absolutely breathtaking! Thewarm yellow lights make it look like a scene straight out of Spirited Away. Building it was so therapeutic!
I was hesitant at first ordering from overseas, but it arrived from Vietnam surprisingly fast!. The quality of the wooden pieces is top notch.
While the jist of what is depicted is what u get. There are quite a few issues that attributed to my 1 star review. 1) i ordered this nook and the sakura nook. Both took over a month to get delivered. 2) **Most Frustrating** was how these items were packed. It actualky wasnt it was duct tapes all around and label put on. Due to this my boxes came in less than desirable appearance. Tears, rips, holes… 3) the products are confusing, is it Anavarin, Book Nook? Either way all materials are mixed with it. 4) the labeling on everything from box to instructions are in vietnamese. While english is provided below the Vietnamese language. It still makes it difficult to understand what the instructions for that step is, esp when its to glue something or not glue something its unclear 5) no glue, i understand due to shipping but many other nooks do. 6) electtical is faulty, after checking. I really want to love this product but these experiences make it a bummer

Regarding the packaging, the Ginzan Onsen and Sawara kits are among our largest models, so we sometimes ship them directly in their original boxes to keep shipping costs reasonable. We understand this can result in cosmetic damage to the outer box during transit, and we're actively looking for better packaging solutions.
We'd also like to clarify that Anavrin and Book Nook Global are different companies. We previously designed and manufactured some products for Anavrin, which is why you may notice similarities, but the product you purchased was manufactured and sold by us.
As for the instruction manual, our newest production batches now include bilingual manuals (English and Spanish). Earlier batches included Vietnamese text, but the assembly process itself is almost entirely illustrated with step-by-step diagrams, and we also provide a complete English PDF manual for customers who prefer it.
Your comments are valuable to us, and many of the improvements in our latest products—including USB Type-C power, bilingual manuals, improved wiring, and upgraded packaging—have come directly from customer feedback like yours.

This is a beast of a model kit with 1116 pieces constructed of laser cut birch plywood and details printed on the pieces with IV color ink. Details are very good. The 2mm thickness of the wood makes some of the pieces fragile but it also makes for finer details compared to the 2.5mm thickness of wooden kits produced by other companies. The mortises and tenons in this kit are precise and fit together well. Some gluing is necessary if the parts are loose but for the most part, it fits together well. I like doing modifications to kits like adding touch switches or lights and this kit was no exception. I decided to change the mechanical switches to touch control and remove the two battery packs and replace it with USB power. The customization went well and it looks great.

I have a fair amount of experience with this type of model kit, and I must confess to being somewhat disappointed in this particular manufacturer. While I appreciate the detail and intricacies, there is just way too much gluing involved. Most days I can complete one or two steps before I have to walk away to let glue dry. I also had an issue with one light strip failing, but Book Nook was quick to respond and offer to send a replacement piece. That is great customer service, but it also means more of a delay before I can continue the build. This kit is NOT for the faint of heart!

Feeling amazing after finishing this beautifully detailed Ginzan Onsen Book Nook from Book Nook Global. The pieces were tiny and I broke a few. Definitely need a craft knife to get the pieces out....next time I will listen. It was £53 from Book Nook Global and arrived in about 7 days. I thought about the detail and design it was a bargain!

My LED strip arrived with what looked like a broken wire. I emailed support expecting a headache but they shipped a replacement part for free. That alone deserves 5 stars.

Le résultat final est magnifique, vraiment. Par contre quelques petites pièces sont assez fragiles, j’en ai cassé une en retirant du panneau. Heureusement avec un cutter fin ça passe beaucoup mieux.
